What You Can Do If Your R350 Grant Application Was Declined

There is a way to get a second chance if your R350 grant application was rejected.R350 grant applications that are rejected can be resubmitted.

In order to review all rejected applications, SASSA has established an appeals process. A rejected application can be appealed using this process. 

“Applicants whose grants are not approved may request a reconsideration of the decision through an appeals process.” SASSA stated. 

You can appeal on the SASSA website by following these steps:

  • Go to the SASSA website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/ for more information
  • You can find the “Application for reconsideration” heading by scrolling down 
  • Check your reconsideration status or apply online by clicking here.

The prompts will guide you

After receiving the application outcome, appeals must be filed within 30 days. There will be no automatic review of rejected applications by SASSA, the agency warned beneficiaries.In order to have their applications reconsidered, rejected applicants must submit appeals on their own.Every declined application must be appealed, SASSA said. 

In what manner will grants be paid?

Grant payments will be made in the following ways to successful applicants:

  • Client’s bank account – the money will be deposited into the client’s bank account. 
  • Those without bank accounts can go to the South African Post Office or Post Bank.
  • Beneficiaries who do not have bank accounts can use bank money transfers (cash send or e-voucher)
