SASSA Grant Recipient qualifies for NSFAS 2023-2024

NSFAS 2023/2024 Eligible Candidates You are eligible to apply for the NSFAS bursary if you meet the following criteria and plan to study in 2023 or are currently studying at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

2023/2024 NSFAS Application Qualification Criteria

  •  In the case of SASSA grant recipients
  • You must earn less than R350,000 per year as a combined household income
  • Persons with disabilities whose combined household income exceeds R600,000
  • It is a student whose household income is not more than R122,000 per year and who begins their university studies before 2018.

The following documents are needed for the NSFAS application for 2023/2024

Online applications for the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) for the 2023/2024 academic year will open on November 2nd and close on November 30th, 2022.

For NSFAS 2023 applications, what documents are required?

  1. The birth certificate or ID must be provided
  2.  A copy of the ID of your guardian, parents, or spouse
  3. Please provide proof of your income or one year’s IRPS if needed
  4. Grant recipients are not required to provide proof of income for SASSA grants
  5. Please provide a working email address and a valid cellphone number
  6.  Students identified by the department of Social Development as Vulnerable Children should complete and sign the Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent form
