What is the process to appeal regarding the SASSA R350 Grant?

• Here is the new appeal status form: https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals/appeal (for appeals beginning April 2022 to March 2023)
• To apply for reconsideration up to March 2022, please go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration.
• During the application process, you will need to enter your ID number and cellphone or mobile number.
• Located below the button with the inscription “send pin”, click it.
• A six-digit OTP code will be sent to your phone number. Enter it in the text box provided.
• Submit the form by clicking the submit button.
• You will see the months when you were declined on the appeal or reconsideration page.
• Please select the month for which you wish to check the status.
• Depending on the month, the status will either be Pending, Approved or Declined.
• There is usually a pay date if you are approved, otherwise you may have to provide your latest or current bank account, or choose Post Bank so that you can collect your grant from the merchant stores.
• The application will be declined if it is not accepted. Unless you request a review by the high court, you cannot appeal again.
• Reconsideration applications submitted since August 2021 have been approved with or without pay dates. Payments have also been made to some.
• SASSA has already asked applicants to exercise more patience since there is a huge backlog of reconsiderations.

Check SASSA SRD Appeal Status From SASSA

• Make sure you have the ID number and the phone number when you call SASSA’s toll free number 0800601011.
• Without paying anything, SASSA can also check the status of your SASSA R350 appeal or reconsideration.
• In order to verify your ownership of the account, they may inquire a few times.
• You will receive an update on the status of your appeal or reconsideration application, as well as instructions on what you need to do to receive your grant.

• SASSA’s hotline is very busy, so you may have to wait a while for your call to be answered.
• In the event that they aren’t picking up or the line is busy, you should keep calling
