Grant Applicants Must Confirm for R350 Grants

South Africa’s Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant is a vital government intervention that ensures unemployed individuals receive some assistance.

Introduction for Applicants Must Confirm for R350 Grants

South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) reinstated SRD grant payments in June 2022 after two months of absence. R350 grant payments were not made in April due to a change in legislation governing the grant.

Due to this change in legislation, all beneficiaries of the grant had to reapply for the crucial relief measure. As part of the grant application process, Sassa said grant recipients will need to reconfirm their applications after a short period of time.

How Often R350 Grant Applicants Must Reconfirm Grant Application

The SRD R350 grant applicants must update their grant applications every three months, Sassa said.

The reconfirmation informs Sassa that the applicants are still eligible for and in need of the grant. As explained by the agency, applicants can also update their responses to the screening questionnaire at any time, should their circumstances change or if errors occur.
